It's been years since I was at a Bubonicon. Those were at a
round hotel - not this one. But they are well worth getting the
plague for. Plus 50 miles north is Santa Fe which has some of the
best old churches in America.

The Los Angles Science Fiction and Fantasy Societies convention -
Loscon XXXV. It's always fun and informative. It's
definitely better then turkey. My husbands favorite con stories
happened at one of these. First there were the Japanese stewardess who walked into a
lobby populated by a bunch of Logan's run
kids and someone in a full NASA space suit. The stun was amazing.
Then there was the mundane businessman in the elevator who thought my
husband was mundane, too and started making comments. Of course my
husband pulled his 1930's Buck Rodgers zapper and shot him. It was
the only time the freeze ray really worked. Don't miss this one.
Weapons must be peace bonded now.

Las Vegas can be a scary place. One armed bandits abound.
Most of the casino\hotels are infested with Aliens slot machines, so be
careful where you sit you can never be sure what will pop out at you.
Course it is usually not money. The Las Vegas Science Fiction
Halloween Party should be fun. Hope they need a lot of cosmetics
and get them at

Pasadena in 2010 A Bid to Host WesterCon 63.
Pasadena is also the home of Caltech and JPL which have
held center stage for many decades for the science at the heart of
Science Fiction. Special guests and tours of both nearby
facilities will be on the program.
It's also in easy driving range of 3 of the best public
gardens in LA county. The one across from Santa Anita should be
familiar it's been in a lot of movies. It's also a longish bus
ride from Hollywood or Echo Park. Burbank and LASFAS are
nearby, too/
